M.A.C cosmetics Brand

'All Ages. All races. All sexes' I have used M.A.C cosmetics for the last 15 years yet everytime I walk into a M.A.C store it consumes me. The branding is so fresh it gets me all the time. M.A.C cosmetics are indeed industry captains. So, over the years this is what I have learned about branding from M..A.C cosmetics.

1. Ensure that your brand logo is simple but effective.

Not only is the quality of the M.A.C products amazing, but the packaging , marketing and distribution is so well standardized earning the brand its household title worldwide.

2.Your brand must be consistent. Late Saturday afternoon I strolled into the M.A.C store that is located at the HUB in Karen Nairobi Kenya. The store looked timeless, transcending and embracing! I walk in with a sense of glee - standard impeccable lighting - standard impeccable service and needless to say the product packaging is YES again IMPECCABLE.

3. Your brand must be timeless. I first encountered M.A.C in dallas, TX. At that time I was a student with very shallow pockets. I vividly REMEMBER saving up to purchase the NW45 studio fix powder. Life changing!! Amazing coverage -15 years ago and 15 years later!!

4. Your brand must set trends.

So yes I have been a student for a mighty long time (and still some!!), while in Law school in South Africa still with very shallow pockets --- the save up was for the ruby woo lipstick by M.A.C!! The Red lip had started trending again and there was M.A.C with ruby woo. The creamy, bold and matte ruby woo!!!

5. Your brand must be innovative.

Then the retro matte liquid lipstain --- the lipstain!! The M.AC retro matte liquid lipcolours are industry captains!!! I have the pleasure of owning dance with me, highdrama, tailored to tease and quite the stand out!! Let me tell you --- they wear just as advertised, 'finish that lingers'

6. Your employees should reflect the ethos of your brand. All ages, all races all sexes is the M.A.C brand ethos! And certainly the staff in all the stores I have visited, around the world, live up to that brand ethos.

7. Finally, your brand presentation must align with your product. If you have ever been to a M.A.C store you would know that their lighting is amazing; infact their lighting is THE TRUTH!! Perfect for selfies just what the doctor ordered after a good make up job!
